- The Saturday of the con Shel asked me if I could give him and Carmine a tour of the city. Shel mentioned you have a new 1973 Firebird. "Sure", was my speedy answer. Just one detour to a collector's house to pick up some comics. Point of fact, there where five of us in the car, four large men and one skinny girl. How we all fit I will never know. Up at Point Loma, myself, Carmine and Shel where gazing accross the point. I was watching some aircraft flying by. I heard a ruckus, then Carmine turned to Shel and I, saying sorry about that guys, "I was at Pearl Harbor". Immediately my eyes and Shel's face locked into amazement and unison. Then we both replied, "You don't need to be sorry about anything, thanks for making it, Carmine."
